Boipeba is Paraiso! Laidback, authentic Bahian living on this unspoilt paradise island makes you question life. It’s a remote, idyllic island that has retained much of its natural beauty and charm and melts you into a slower pace. If you’re visiting and wondering where to stay in Boipeba, Pousada Moreré comes highly recommended.

Set the scene
If you imagine waking up in paradise to a delicious breakfast in an idyllic setting, served by the sea, you’ll love this beachfront pousada in Moreré. The family-owned, pet-friendly pousada has a mellow, bohemian vibe and warm hospitality that will make you want to extend your stay. It offers a sun terrace and fast and free WiFi throughout and is surrounded by lush tropical gardens, making it the perfect retreat for your Boipeba vacation.

Location
Pousada Moreré is approximately 15 minutes by quad from the main entry point of the island, Velha Boipeba, or one hour by foot. Therefore, the pousada’s remote location is ideal for connecting with nature and the local community, of which it is an integral part.
The area offers easy access to one of Brazil’s best beaches, awe-inspiring natural pools, and a hike barefoot through the island’s mangroves.
The traditional architecture and decor emit simple but elegant charm and refined touches that align beautifully with the island’s authenticity and rustic nature. The lush gardens include a unique seashell shower and hammocks on the patio of each room, allowing guests to disconnect and reset.
The stunning nearby beaches of Moreré, Praia de Bainema, Cueira, and Tassimirim are accessible on foot. In the village near the pousada are a couple of restaurants and shops. However, for more activities, head to Velha Boipeba. You can catch a quad bike in the square, just 350m away.

What can we expect from the rooms?
Pousada Moreré has 11 rooms ranging from standard rooms with fans to deluxe with air conditioning and minibar.
My amply sized standard room had a simple but contemporary decor that matched the wooden aesthetic that runs through the property. Rooms are just 30m from the beach, and all have patios with hammocks, allowing guests to relax and immerse themselves in nature while taking in the garden view. The standard room has a private bathroom, mosquito nets, fans, and a furnished patio. There was no TV, but who needs one?

Facilities, food and drink
The facilities include WiFi, a sun terrace, and a popular restaurant serving fresh, flavoursome food from local producers and refreshing cocktails.
The breakfast is delicious and varied. Mark your selection, and it’s served to you. Dishes include the usual eggs, bread, fruit and juices and some Brazilian favourites such as tapioca, plantain and rabanada (seasonal).

What about the service?
First class! It’s not only a service but a connectedness. Pousada Moreré will feel like home as you integrate easily into the community.
Diego is very helpful, and the team are all fantastic. Tours can be arranged through the pousada, or ride the waves with local legend TikaTika and visit the island’s awe-inspiring natural pools.
