Though Rio is the first place that comes to mind for most at the mention of Brazil, I have long wanted to visit Bahia. It’s
I’m a travel and lifestyle blogger with a focus on solo female travel.
After numerous years of travel, living abroad in two different countries (the Cayman Islands and Jamaica), two highly inspirational trips to Egypt, and feeling that the more mature and black solo female travellers were underrepresented, I decided to start a blog.
This space is a journal of my travels, tips and musings that aims to inspire, empower and encourage women exploring life and new adventures in their later years on their terms.

I’m based in London, England, though was born and raised in Oxford.I’ve studied law and work at a law firm doing legal stuff (yawn).
My passion is travel, and I have travelled to numerous countries and of recent years do so solo.Travel and empowerment go hand-in-hand for me as I have gained confidence and growth through travel.

finding their confidence, identifying with their purpose and maybe just starting to live life on their terms rather than old school society norms.
I love festivals
I’m highly spiritual (of course – we are spirit!)
I dislike
– Fakeness
– Coriander

Akara Restaurant is tucked underneath the arches in Borough Yards and offers a tantalising blend of West African and Brazilian flavours.
In addition to being picturesque and steeped in history, Gjirokastra is relaxing and a great place to detach and reset. That said, it’s also known as the “city of a thousand staircases,” so be warned, you will be working those glutes.
